New at netfiles: Data room login with passkey authentication

Are you annoyed by all the passwords you have to think up and remember for countless applications, websites or online stores? If so, we have good news for you: From now on you can also log in to netfiles without a password, using our innovative new passkey procedure.

Why passkeys?
The answer is simple: Logging in with a passkey offers you maximum security – and more convenience. Your login data is not transmitted via the Internet and you don't have to remember your password. Passkeys therefore protect against data theft and are also easier to use.

How do passkeys work?
All you have to do is set up a passkey, which you only do once – either on your PC or mobile device, on a FIDO2 security key (a hardware token similar to a USB stick) or in your password manager. During one of your next logins to your netfiles data room, you will automatically be given the option to create a passkey. The system prompts will quickly guide you through the few steps needed to set up passkey authentication.

Each time you log in again in future, you will have the choice of doing so either with your passkey or, as in the past, with your password. If you choose the passkey method, netfiles will ask you to identify yourself. To do so, you can then use either a biometric method that your device supports, your FIDO2 stick, or your device PIN. That’s it! You are now logged in.
