The servers used by netfiles are located at two high-security noris data centers in Munich and Nuremberg. Here, optimal protection and high availability of your data is guaranteed by a multi-tiered security concept, automated fire prevention systems, air-conditioning technology, an uninterruptible power supply and a direct link to the Internet backbone.
This level of security is backed by Protection Class IV (SK4) for high-level disaster prevention pursuant to the EN 50600 standard and a fire prevention concept in compliance with the F90 fire-resistance class. Even in the event that a fire is detected, this guarantees an uninterruptible supply of power to the data centers and thus safeguards your access to the netfiles virtual data room.
Award-winning security and energy efficiency
noris gives top priority to the highly secure and energy-efficient operation of all its data centers. Nuremberg South, for example, was the first German colocation data center to achieve TÜViT Trusted Site Infrastructure Level 4 certification. noris network also won the 2022 Service Provider Award for its ultra-modern and innovative services.

Protection from attacks
Cyber-criminals use distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks to inundate a system with requests and cause it to collapse. The multi-tiered DDoS protection system from noris provides effective protection against this particular kind of attack.
Even if a DDoS attack does take place, you and your users in the virtual data room will not notice a thing. This is because noris networks immediately identifies DDoS attacks, filters them out selectively and is able to mitigate them. As a result, the DDoS attack never reaches either the netfiles servers or your virtual data room, allowing normal system requests to be processed as usual.
Thanks to this high standard of security, noris networks is listed with the Federal Office for Information Security as a qualified DDoS mitigation service provider.
Protection against unauthorized access
A multi-tiered server security system with double firewall systems and the physical separation of application and data servers guarantees maximum security and optimal protection against third-party attacks.
Redundancy-based failsafe security
netfiles only runs reliable and rigorously tested enterprise hardware. All our server systems are also redundant by design: If one system fails, a hot standby system immediately takes over its tasks. Even in the exceptionally unlikely event that an entire data center might fail, all functions are resumed in a very short time by the second data center. This is possible because the noris data centers in Nuremberg and Munich are interconnected via a high-performance backbone.
Regular security checks
The netfiles application is regularly subjected to rigorous security checks. SySS GmbH, which specializes in security and penetration testing, conducts “pen tests” (penetration tests) on our behalf at regular intervals. These tests simulate a cyber-attack in order to identify potential weaknesses and security loopholes long before hackers are able to exploit them. Penetration tests always keep us a step ahead of cyber-criminals and leave us well prepared to face new threats.
Sustainable and extremely efficient
noris network uses the latest cooling technologies to boost energy efficiency. For 90% of the time, its data centers are cooled by the highly efficient Kyoto Cooling® system – with no additional systems needed. Additionally, the company uses green electricity to meet all the energy needs of its data centers. This advanced sustainability level is confirmed by ISO 14001 certification awarded by the audit firm Dekra.
